HANDO® – BIO ACEROLA CAMU CAMU
“HANDO® Bio Acerola comes from the tropical forests of Brazil and Peru.
HANDO® attaches great importance to checking the production conditions on site (no pesticides, no pollutants, extreme hygiene), which is why HANDO® gets-to-know it’s suppliers personally and visits them regularly”.
“No side effects have been observed so far. However, the recommended daily dosage should not be exceeded.”
“HANDO® Bio Acerola Camu Camu capsules can be taken at any time of the day. 1-2 capsules per day are recommended, depending on age.
1 capsule contains 48mg natural vitamin C, which is about 60% of the recommended daily intake for adults”.
“HANDO® Bio ACEROLA CAMU CAMU capsules are a 100% biological and high quality product with pure natural vitamin C, which especially at the beginning and during the cold seasons, (when the supply of harvested fruits decreases), they strengthen the human body’s immune system in a natural way. HANDO® Bio ACEROLA CAMU CAMU capsules can also be taken as a preventative measure, by people who work under heavy physical strain or in a cold environment”.
“Although the natural vitamin C content of Camu Camu is higher than that of Acerola Cherry, the yield of Acerola Cherry is higher. This is due to the more sophisticated manufacturing process.
The Acerola powder has a vitamin C content of approx. 17%.
The Camu Camu powder has a vitamin C content of approx. 7-10 %”.
“Camu Camu: 2000 mg per 100g
Acerola cherry: 1300 – 1700 mg per 100g”
“It is important for the consumer whether a product contains only natural L-ascorbic acid or synthetic or biotechnologically produced (“GMO”) L-ascorbic acid.
Most products advertised as natural, contain synthetic vitamin C.
Since synthetic ascorbic acid has the same chemical structure as natural vitamin C, it has so far been difficult or even impossible to distinguish between them.
Through a research project by the Joanneum Research Graz with the University of Graz, a test method has been developed where it can be determined whether Acerola or Camu Camu powder contains only natural L-ascorbic acid or whether synthetic or bio-technologically produced (“GMO”) L-ascorbic acid has been subsequently added.
HANDO® Bio Acerola Camu Camu is the first product of it’s kind that has been proven to contain only natural vitamin C. “
“Synthetic vitamin C is a product whose chemical structure is identical to that of natural vitamin C. But in nature, vitamins or amino acids are never produced purely chemically. This means that synthetic ascorbic acid itself is chemically identical, but does not correspond to the naturally occurring vitamin C complex, which is composed of many different components.
Natural vitamin C is better absorbed and metabolically consumed more slowly.
Natural vitamin C has a better bio-availability (that is the proportion of a nutrient that can be absorbed from a food and made available to the body).
90% of so-called vitamin C supplements consist of synthetic Ascorbic acid, Calcium ascorbate, Magnesium ascorbate and Potassium ascorbate. Other ingredients may include Corn starch, Stearic acid, Sucrose, Shellac, Talc, Tartaric acid, Riboflavin (E101), Sodium dodecyl sulfate and Gelatine.
Meanwhile, the People’s Republic of China is the largest producer of Ascorbic acid, which is produced almost exclusively bio-technologically. Vitamin C produced with the aid of genetically modified micro-organisms is internationally known as GMO vitamin C (GMO = “genetically modified organism”). GMO Ascorbic acid is cheaper. This process is used to produce most of the world’s Vitamin C content products.
HANDO® Bio Acerola Camu Camu powder has been scientifically proven to contain purely NATURAL Vitamin C (tested by Joanneum Research Graz)”.
“The intake of up to 1 g Vitamin C per day, in addition to the intake with your normal diet should not give any harmful side effects. With an intake of 3 to 4 g per day, gastrointestinal problems, such as diarrhoea can temporarily occur.
There are some groups of people who have an increased risk of harmful side effects due to increased Vitamin C intake: people with kidney damage, people with a predisposition for urinary or kidney stones or with disorders in the absorbation of food iron. However, it is also tolerable for them to take up to 1 g per day, without any harmful side effects.”
This varies according to age and gender. It is recommended:
Infants and children up to 4 years of age: 20 mg per day
Children 13-15 years old: 85 mg per day
15-19 years old
Male: 105 mg per day / Female: 90 mg per day
Male: 110 mg per day / Female: 95 mg per day
Pregnant female: 105 mg per day
Breastfeeding female: 125 mg per day
Smokers (have higher metabolic losses and lower vitamin C concentration in the blood than non-smokers!!)
Male smokers: 155 mg per day / Female smokers: 135 mg per day

“Foods with a high Vitamin C content include sea buckthorn berries, black currants, citrus fruits, peppers, potatoes, cabbage, spinach and tomatoes.
However, the vitamin C content of natural foods also depends on the time of harvest, transport, duration of and type of storage, but also on the preparation (fruit and vegetables should only be washed briefly, vegetables only steamed briefly to minimise vitamin losses).
Acerola and Camu Camu are among the plants with the highest vitamin C content.”
“Vitamin C is associated with many metabolic processes. Among other things, it is needed for the healthy development of connective tissue (collagen), skin, cartilage, bones and teeth. Vitamin C also has an antioxidant effect, i.e. it intercepts harmful compounds such as free radicals and thus protects the cells and molecules in the body from damage. It improves the utilization of iron from vegetable foods and inhibits the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines”./p>
